Osteopathy at the 2016 Brazilian Olympics
Considering the fact that during the London 2012 Olympic Games osteopaths were included in health services for the first time, the RBrO (Brazilian Register of Osteopaths) met in November 2012 with representatives of the General Osteopathic Council – UK GOsC and established the Brazilian Osteopathic Committee for Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
All Olympic Games host countries make available to participants a general hospital, where services in various medical specialties are accessible. Thus, with international support, our Committee has been working since January 2013 to include outpatient Osteopath services at the 2016 Games.
The Brazilian Osteopathic Committee for the Olympic Games main goal was the inclusion of Brazilian osteopaths in the 2016 Olympic Games.
